Current Release

Inno Setup 6.5 and other recent versions introduced a large number of significant enhancements including:

• 6.5: Improved archive extraction, including support for .zip and password-protected archives.
• 6.5: Improved file downloads, no [Code] needed anymore.
• 6.5: New signature-verification capability: download, extract and verify using a single [Files] entry.
• 6.5: Full dark mode support for the Compiler IDE, and improved support for high-contrast themes and screen readers.
• 6.5: Support for encryption of the entire installation.
• 6.5: Introducing commercial licenses.
• 6.4: New strong encryption algorithm and updated LZMA SDK.
• 6.4: Many more Compiler IDE improvements, including match selection, parameter hints, improved autocompletion, section folding, change history and optional Visual Studio Code-style shortcuts.
• 6.3: Support for Arm64 systems improved, and related enhancements.
• 6.3: Support for logging the output of executed programs or batch files.
• 6.3: Support for UTF-8 encoded files without a BOM.
• 6.3: Many Compiler IDE improvements, including multiple selection support.

Updating is strongly recommended, even if you don’t plan to use these enhancements right away. We continually add extra checks to make your installers safer and more reliable.

What's new in this version?

Introducing commercial licenses: Using Inno Setup commercially? Please purchase a license. Thank you! All commercial licenses are perpetual and require a single payment. They include two years of updates, major and minor. After this period, your current version will remain licensed and functional as-is.

To install Inno Setup interactively using winget use the following command: winget install --id JRSoftware.InnoSetup -e -s winget -i

Next Release

For the next release we are working hard on various enhancements including:

• Adding support for downloading over TLS 1.3 and extracting archives in the RAR5 format.
• Increasing the maximum size of single-file Setup.exe from 2 GB to 4 GB.
• Removing the size limit for disk slices when disk spanning is enabled.
• Automatically reloading files in the Compiler IDE to improve integration with tools like Claude Code.
• Adding support for .png wizard images and improving transparency support for .bmp wizard imgaes.
• Adding support for dark mode (forced or automatic) and custom styles to Setup and Uninstall.

Source Code

You can get the Inno Setup source code via GitHub. Latest sources obtained via GitHub may contain fixes or new features not found in the latest released version of Inno Setup. However, those fixes and new features may not have yet been fully tested.

Unique Builds
